UNESCO is supporting Sauti FM to carry out a training to strengthen the capacity of journalists on how to use Internet for journalistic production (on-air and off-air) to produce quality programmes on Agriculture, Health and Women Empowerment for broadcast to the community. The training will bring together 17 participants (8 men and 9 women) from Siaya County, in Asembo Bay, Kenya.
The participants will be trained to radio software’s that enhance reporting and interactivity of the radio with the local community. They will also learn how to use software like Telerive for beep to vote during radio programmes.

The training will include theory, practical exercises and individual and group assignments followed, at the end of the training, by an assessment and evaluation of the participants. This training is part of UNESCOs continued capacity building initiatives under SIDA funded project “Empowering community Radios with ICTs” in Kenya.
