Kenya: Open Educational Resources Development Workshop
UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa will support Strathmore University to carry out a 2 day Moodle training workshop at its iHUB in Kenya. The training is designed to train teachers about UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (CFT) and will be populated with Open Education Resources (OER), available for anyone to access. During the workshop, participants will be able to finalize the OER materials currently being prepared, and upload those that are complete.
Sessions on conducting online assessments and uploading multimedia will be organized during the workshop. A group of ministry, university, teacher organization, and civil society stakeholders will work together to upload their previously developed education materials onto the Kenyan ICT CFT site, built on a Moodle platform.
The training workshop is part of ongoing trainings aimed at developing Open Education Resources (OER) for use in a teacher training course aligned with Kenyan ICT in Education policy framework and the UNESCO Competency Framework for Teachers.
