It aims at reviewing and improving the KICT CFT course materials and facilitator guide. It will also provide technical support to facilitation team and strategic personnel in preparation for the national roll-out of the project to 22,000 teachers and headmasters in Kenya.
UNESCO is supporting the Government of Kenya in the implementation of its Digital Literacy Programme that seeks to train teachers on how to integrate ICTs in Education and the project has thus far trained 100 teachers in knowledge deepening for ICT Integration in Education in Kenya. As a critical component for successful implementation of the Digital Literacy Programme in Kenya, this workshop will improve KICT CFT course content based on feedback from teacher trainers and online facilitators.
The aforementioned review workshop will attract participants from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Teachers Service Commission (TSC), Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), Centre for Mathematics Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA), Airtel Kenya, Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI), Kenya Institute for Special Education (KISE) and Kenya National Commission for UNESCO (KNATCOM).
