Cecilie Golden, c.golden@unesco.orgThis meeting is organized following the election of the new Bureau of the Intergovernmental Council (IGC) of UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations (MOST) Programme on 19 November 2013, and the adoption of workplans for the current UNESCO Programme.
It is convened to allow the Secretariat to give the MOST Bureau and Scientific Advisory Committee updated information on recently implemented and foreseen activities, and to seek their feedback and cooperation on the strengthening of the MOST Programme.
The composition of the IGC Bureau is as follows:
President: H.E. Mrs Alicia Kirchner, Minister of Social Development, Argentina.
Vice-Presidents:
- Norway (Group I);
- Slovakia (Group II);
- Ecuador (Group III);
- Malaysia (Group IV);
- Kenya (Group Va);
- United Arab Emirates (Group Vb).
Rapporteur: to be elected.
Members of the Scientific Advisory Committee are appointed in their personal capacity by the Director-General.
Numerous members of the MOST Programme have already undertaken or are foreseeing to implement activities to respond to its priorities.
