Carlos Tejada,

Within the framework of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UNESCO Office in Mexico and in collaboration with the Faculty of Philosophy of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the International Meeting “Philosophical Principles of Human Rights” will be held on the 15 and 16 November in Mexico City.
This meeting will bring together a renowned group of national and international specialists to reflect on the links between philosophy and human rights, as well as the notion of human rights as a principle of universalism and cultural diversity as seen from diverse perspectives that include philosophical, legal, artistic, historical and international cooperation.

One of the main objectives of World Philosophy Day is to encourage analysis, research and philosophical studies on strategic contemporary problems in order to better respond to the challenges facing humanity today.

With this in mind, the International Meeting will mark the beginning of a series of projects with which the UNESCO Office in Mexico will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
