The 3rd edition of the “RDV international sur la gestion intégré de l’eau” will be held from 7 to 9 May 2014. The aim of this biennial gathering of professionals is to promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices related to sustainable use of water resources.
More than 70 speakers from fifteen different countries will share their experience and know-how with the 500 participants expected at the University Laval in the City of Quebec, Canada. French and English languages will be used during the event.

The theme of this year’s edition of the meeting focuses on issues of transboundary water management in a changing climate. It will be addressed in 16 thematic sessions organized around the presentation of governance and capacity building tools for water management, water uses and risk management, as well as climate change adaptation.

Two workshops will be led by UNESCO’s PCCP programme (associated programme of IHP and WWAP) and the Secretariat of the 1992 water Convention of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). During these two sessions participants and speakers will discuss the expected benefits of cooperation in the field of water and will assess the place of this resource in the design of the post-2015 sustainable development objectives.

This event is indeed a link between the International Year of Water Cooperation (2013) coordinated by UNESCO on behalf of the UN System and the post-2015 process.
