Information meeting on the UN World Water Development Report 2016
An Information meeting for the Permanent Delegates to UNESCO on the launch of the World Water Development Report 2016, titled "Water and Jobs", will be held at UNESCO Headquarters on 24 March 2016.
This information meeting will provide a opportunity to brief Permanent Delegates on the main findings of the World Water Development Report 2016, titled "Water and Jobs".
The report emphasizes how opportunities for employment growth and decent jobs depend on the sustainable management of water resources and provision of water supply and sanitation services.
The session will open with a message from Irina Bokova, Director Gerneal of UNESCO. Speakers will include Flavia Schlegel, UNESCO’s Assistant-Director General for Natural Sciences, Vicenza Lomonaco, Italian representative and Ambassador of Italy to UNESCO, Eliana Zugaib, Brazilian representative and Ambassador of Brazil to UNESCO, and Stefan Uhlenbrook, Coordinator of the World Water Assessment Programme.
Hard copies of the Report and its related materials will be distributed during the meeting.
