An information meeting on the UNESCO Forum of Ministers of Culture, organized by the Culture Sector, will take place in Room IX (Fontenoy building), from 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday 4 June 2019.
UNESCO will organize on 19 November 2019 a Forum of the Ministers of Culture, in conjunction with the 40th session of the General Conference. As announced by the Director-General at the 205th session of the Executive Board, the Forum of the Ministers of Culture is intended as an interministerial meeting, aimed at fostering reflection on cultural policies, from a global and transversal perspective, in relation to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. br /br /In line with the international conferences on cultural policies organized by the Organization in Mexico (Mondiacult, 1982) and in Stockholm (Cultural policies for development, 1998), the Forum of the Ministers of Culture will address priorities, challenges and opportunities facing Member States as they design and implement their cultural policies. Particular attention will be given to the contribution of UNESCO’s normative instruments and programmes in the field of culture with regards to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.br /br /An information meeting on the UNESCO Forum of Ministers of Culture, organized by the Culture Sector, will take place in Room IX (Fontenoy building), from 3.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on Tuesday 4 June 2019, with a view to solicit proposals from Member States on the issues to be covered at the Forum.
