Montenegro is hosting this workshop at the World Heritage Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor with the aim primarily to enhance capacities of professionals from South-East Europe.

It sets as a priority the action to advance their current knowledge and skills of using impact assessments, as a tool for evaluating impacts from various factors affecting heritage in general, World Heritage sites in particular, and for planning to ensure an upstream analysis and change management in a World Heritage context.

The workshop will provide participants with all the necessary knowledge on the application of Heritage Impact Assessment in diverse processes and skills to conduct it and to use the results in a more effective conservation decision-making.

The workshop is organised by the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and the National Commission for UNESCO of Montenegro, in close cooperation with and with financial support from the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science and Culture in Europe and the World Heritage Centre through the International Assistance ensured by the World heritage Fund

Participants are individuals engaged in the protection of Cultural Heritage from South-East European Members States, specifically: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey.
