The Future Research Agenda
The event, organized at the UNESCO Pavilion (espace Génération Climat) during COP21, will present the main conclusions of the International Scientific Conference: “Our common future under climate change”, which took place at UNESCO headquarters in July 2015.
After a short introduction on the initiatives of the Lima Paris Action Plan and considering the wide array of issues treated at Conference, a debate will be launched on the identification of areas and scientific issues which could justify new developments and efforts in the forthcoming years.
Scientists and representatives of national and international institutions and organizations in charge of research funding and programming will participate in the debate, notably three members of the United Nations Secretary General’s Scientific Advisory board:
- Jörg Hinrich Hacker; President, German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina
- Maria Ivanova; Co-Director, Center for Governance and Sustainability and Director, Global Environmental Governance Project, University of Massachusetts Boston
- Judi W. Wakhungu; First Cabinet Secretary, Ministry for Environment, Water and Natural Resources of Kenya; Professor of Energy Resources Management.
