Fifth meeting of the Working Group for the development of Operational Guidelines and a framework of consequences for non-compliance with the Anti-Doping Convention
The fifth meeting of the Working Group will be held at UNESCO Headquarters on 5 February 2019. This last meeting will be dedicated to the finalization of the Group’s tasks on the draft Operational Guidelines and framework of consequences for non-compliance with the International Convention against Doping in Sport.
Representing each regional group of UNESCO, the members of the Working Group have collectively developed and refined the draft versions, both in-session (during previous meetings held on 26 March, 25 June, 24 September and 6 December 2018) and out-of-session through a dedicated online platform.
In accordance with the framework of the sixth session of the Conference of Parties (COP6), at the end of the fifth meeting of the Working Group, the final preliminary drafts will be put forward for the consideration of the Bureau of the Conference of Parties, then circulated for feedback to all States Parties in March 2019. The consolidated drafts will be submitted for approval at the Seventh Session of the Conference of Parties to the Convention in October 2019.
*Under Resolution 6CP/5 of the sixth session of the Conference of Parties to the Anti-Doping Convention (25-26 September 2017), an open-ended Working Group, composed of experts designated by twenty-seven States Parties, was established to develop Operational Guidelines and a framework of consequences for non-compliance with the Convention.
