Expert meeting on developing an overall results framework for the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage
A UNESCO expert meeting will take place from 7 to 9 September 2016 in Beijing, China, open to invited experts only. This meeting aims to initiate the first steps toward developing an overall results framework for the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
This expert meeting is convened at the request of the Intergovernmental Committee of the 2003 Convention with the generous support of China. The purpose is to develop an overall results framework for the Convention against which the progress, accomplishments and challenges of this Convention could be compared (Decision 8.COM 5.c.1). This meeting will be one of the very first steps in this process.
The main outcome of the meeting should be the elaboration of a preliminary results framework to be further discussed in an open-ended intergovernmental working group to be organized in 2017.
