This Ethics Teachers' Training Course in Doha, Qatar, is a collaborative effort involving UNESCO, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. The course offers a unique opportunity for participants from Qatar and from other countries in the region to enhance their teaching capacities in ethics.

The Ethics Teachers' Training Course (ETTC) is designed to advance pedagogical capacity for ethics teaching and improve the quality of ethics education around the world.

The activity is aimed at training teachers who have recently begun teaching, or will soon commence their teaching careers at various institutions of higher education. The objective is to train teaching experts by providing methodological tools in bioethics education (deliberative method, problematizing methodology, case use, problem-based teaching, etc.).

The training course will be conducted in English by a team of international experts with extensive experience in ethics education.

Candidates for the course should hold a Master’s or higher degree (in areas such as law, medicine, philosophy, ethics, or social sciences), experience or future plans of teaching ethics, and a good command of English language.

Interested candidates should submit a registration form to UNESCO ( as early as possible, before 1 September 2018. Applicants should also include a letter of intent (600 words, in English) explaining why they wish to participate in the course and how they expect to benefit from it.

Registration for the course is free. Participants are expected to cover their own travel, meals and accommodation in a hotel designated by the organizer.
