In the context of the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, UNESCO organizes a round table with artists and representatives of survivors organizations, in partnership with the Shoah Memorial and France Culture. The round-table will examine the main challenges of passing on the history and memory of the genocide more than 3 generations after it took place.
In the presence of Raphaël Esrail, President of the Union of Auschwitz Deportees and Michael Newman, Executive Director of the Association of Jewish Refugees (United Kingdom).
Round table moderated by Sandrine Treiner, Deputy-Director of France Culture, with Jean-Claude Grumberg, Daniel Mendelsohn and Uri Orlev, writers.
The official ceremony of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau will be broadcasted live from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum from 3 :30 pm to 4 :15 pm.
