The event Conexão Oceano (Ocean Connection in free translation) will address cross-cutting issues to marine life, the relationship of the ocean to our daily lives, and the fundamental role of communication in raising community awareness. The relationship between the ocean and society, and the way communication can engage people to understand this connection to protect marine ecosystems will be the conducting wires of Conexão Oceano. This is the first communication event for the United Nations Ocean Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
The event is jointly organized by Fundação Grupo Boticário de Proteção à Natureza, by the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), by the UNESCO Office in Brazil and Museu do Amanhã (Tomorrow Museum in free translation). It will be held at Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) on 03 September 2019. The workshop is free and open to the public.
