Commission on Science and Technology for Development
The meeting will address progress made in the implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society at the regional and international levels
The Priority themes will include:
•Science, technology and innovation for the post-2015 development agenda
•Taking stock: A decade of contributions of the Commission on Science and Technology for Development to the Millennium Development Goals
•Looking forward: Science, technology and innovation prospects for the post-2015 development agenda
•Information and communications technologies for inclusive social and economic development
•Presentation of reports on science, technology and innovation policy reviews (STIP Reviews)
The intergovernmental structure of UNCTAD consists basically of the Conference, the Trade and Development Board, two Commissions, and expert meetings.
The Conference meets every four years, while the Board has one regular session and two or three executive sessions each year. The Commissions meet once a year, and each Commission convenes a number of expert meetings on specific topics.
