To celebrate the International Women’s Day, UNESCO will participate in the event organized by El Sawy Culturalwheel in Cairo on 7 March 2015 from 13:00 to 18:00. This event will combine lectures on women’s health and education, and entertainment like Zumba and Wend workshops.
El Sawy Culturalwheel is a comprehensive culture center offering a variety of events such as concerts, theatrical plays, movie screening, exhibition, seminars and workshops. It is situated in Zamalek in Cairo and very popular gathering points for young Egyptians. UN agencies and UNESCO have been collaborating with this center and have organized many events there.
For celebration of the International Women’s Day, many events are planned during the month of March by UNESCO Cairo Office in cooperation with cultural center, UN agencies, National Commission for UNESCO and other international organizations.
As a start of the whole month celebration in March, UNESCO participates in the event organized by the El Sawy Culturalwheel to present the work of UNESCO in relation to gender followed by a talk of Professor Sanaa Botros of Theodor Bilharz Research Institute in Cairo about Research involving women and Ethical principles.
During this event, young women and men will learn from various talks and discussions about women’s health related issues, media and women and also enjoy Zumba and Wend workshops.
