International Day for Disaster Reduction promotes a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction by celebrating how people around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters.
This year’s theme is based on Target (d) of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030: ‘Substantially reduce disaster damage to critical infrastructure and disruption services, among them health and education facilities, including through developing their resilience by 2030’.
During this interactive event, you can learn about tools and services developed and provided by UNESCO in terms of school safety aiming to support Member states to implement the Sustainable Development Goals and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
Latest UNESCO initiatives concerning school safety and all the other disaster risk reduction activities across Sectors will be shared during this event.
