The International Day for Disaster Reduction promotes a global culture of risk-awareness and disaster reduction by celebrating how people around the world are reducing their exposure to disasters.
This year’s commemoration is focused on Target C of the Sendai Framework: Reducing disaster economic losses in relation to global GDP by 2030.
This interactive event is the opportunity to discover and use various technological tools and services developed by UNESCO and its partners to support Member States in implementing the Sustainable
Development Goals and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
There will be focus on:
- Resilience and built environment
- Early warning systems
- DRR at UNESCO designated sites
