Capacity Building for the International Fund for Cultural Diversity in Ecuador
A national capacity building workshop for applications to the International Fund for Cultural Diversity ( (IFCD) ) will be held in Quito from 8 to 9 March 2016.
It aims to strengthen, with government actors, the NGOs and the professionals of culture, a better appropriation of the IFCD objectives.
The National Commissions of Columbia and Ecuador will be part of this training for their crucial role in the pre-selection of the projects submitted to the IFCD.
The IFCD is a way to support the implementation of the Convention for the protection and promotion of cultural diversity by stimulating the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector in developing countries. Since its creation in 2010, the FIDC has helped finance nearly 80 projects in these countries.
In this context, the workshop, organized by the UNESCO Office in Quito and the Ministry of Culture and Heritage of Ecuador, addresses the need to strengthen cooperation for development. It offers a systematic and sustained capacity-building process oriented towards the assistance requests concerning the design and implementation of cultural projects.
The workshop will answer questions on writing projects taking into account the eligibility criteria for the submission to the seventh call for project funding applications which deadline is April 15.
