The screening of the documentary series "Building Our Nation: The Contribution of the Afro-Caribbean Population in Costa Rica" will take place on Tuesday, 17 July 2018. Its objective is to analyze the presence and contributions of people of Afro-Caribbean descent in the history of Costa Rica in order to recognize the contributions of this population.

The documentary series addresses different issues related to the Afro-Caribbean population, such as migration, education and work, culture and identity, citizenship and political participation.

The aim is to generate a space for recognition of the legacy of this population through audiovisual archiving and interviews with different people.

This screening for the general public is a collaboration of the Chair of African and Caribbean Studies at the University of Costa Rica, the Embassy of Chile in Costa Rica and UNESCO.
