Asia Pacific Youth Dialogue
UNESCO, in collaboration with the National Commission of China to UNESCO, and Perfect World, a private sector company, is organizing the Asia Pacific Youth Dialogue to be held in Chengdu, China from 20 to 23 September 2016. The Youth Dialogue is being held in advance of an Asian Civilizations Dialogue Forum (ACDF) being planned for 2017.
It is expected to bring together youth from 46 countries to discuss and come up with recommendations on the nexus between Asia Pacific civilizations, cultures, social cohesion, respect for diversity and peacebuilding; and engaging youth as agents of change and custodians of the future regionally and internationally.
Recommendations from the Youth Dialogue will be presented to regional leaders attending the Asian Civilizations Dialogue Forum (ACDF) being planned for 2017, and to national and international bodies.
The Asia Pacific Youth Dialogue is being organized within the framework of the UN International Decade for the Rapprochement of Cultures (2013-2022) for which UNESCO is the lead UN Agency.
