With the Quezon City Film Development Council as host, the UNESCO Office in Jakarta, Philippine National Commission for UNESCO, NETPAC (Network for the Promotion of Asia-Pacific Cinema), FDCP (Film Development Council of the Philippines), Asia Culture Center, UP Film Institute, and Center for New Cinema will hold the Asia Pacific Cinema Documentary Heritage Conference at Novotel Hotel, Quezon City, Metro Manila and the University of the Philippines – Diliman on October 26-28, 2018. The event will coincide with the celebration of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage (27 October).
The Conference will be attended by thirty Asia-Pacific personalities outstanding in their engagements with the development of film culture and the preservation of documentary heritage (film, print, sound recording, etc.). Local participants will include members of cultural communities, scholars, librarians, archivists, museum curators, government and non-government organizations, media, teachers, and students.
Events to hold: conference on awareness for cinema documentary heritage and its preservation and promotion, nomination workshop for UNESCO registries, panel on centennial of Philippine documentary, film and cultural literacy sessions, NETPAC board meeting, film screenings, book launching, announcement of Philippine national documentary registry.
