The Association of European Journalists (AEJ est. 1961), organizes on December 6th 2019 a great European conference about press freedom across the continent.
This conference is organized by the French delegation of the AEJ, which headquarters are located in Paris. It will take place at UNESCO Headquarters (Room IV) with the support of the Council of Europe.
The Conference will be open to all representants of the 27 European delegations of the AEJ. For the first time, some of them will be able to give a statement in front of an audience formed of journalists, public figures and NGOs.
The Conference will be organized in four round table discussions about the following topics (both in English and in French, translation handled by UNESCO):
- Europe isn’t a safe space for journalists anymore
- Is an informed public debate still possible at the time of disinformation?
- Public audiovisual media facing new threats
