Advancing the disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation agenda: application of ecosystem services and nature based solutions
UNESCO’s Section on Earth Sciences and Geo-Hazards Risk Reduction is organizing Partners Consultative Meeting focusing on “Advancing the disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation agenda: application of ecosystem services and nature based solutions”.
UNESCO, in close cooperation with the European Commission, would like to take this opportunity to present the international agenda on Nature-based Solutions for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation to UNESCO Member States and Experts. This event will give a great opportunity to further increase awareness of UNESCO Member States on eco-DRR and CCA solutions and foster mainstreaming of eco-DRR in policies, strategies and across multiple SDGs at international, EU, and national levels.
This session is a milestone event of the OPERANDUM project (OPEn-air laboRAtories for Nature baseD solUtions to Manage environmental risks), which aims to develop a set of innovative nature based solutions for the mitigation of the impact caused by various natural hazards.
