As part of the celebrations of World Philosophy Day in 2013, placed this year under the theme “Inclusive Societies, Sustainable Planet”, the 13th International Meeting on New Philosophical Practices, will be held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, on 26 and 27 November 2013, bringing together dozens of experts, teachers, researchers, practitioners, and children.
Open to the public, these meetings are organized annually at UNESCO by the French Association Philolab and its numerous partners, in cooperation with the Social and Human Sciences Sector of UNESCO. They represent a unique opportunity to practice philosophy accessible to all and have become a meeting place for all those who would like philosophy to be developed in diverse places such as primary and secondary schools, hospitals, prisons, pubs, popular universities, businesses, theaters, libraries, etc.
The program for this 13th edition includes numerous events: workshops, master classes of philosophy teaching for children with participation of children and adolescents from several French schools, as well as several round tables on various topics, such as "Contributions of French philosophy to management thought”, “Internet at the service of training in New Philosophical Practices” or “Teaching of morality and the New Philosophical Practices".
A roundtable discussion on " Public Policies in favour of the New Philosophical Practices” which will be held during the whole day on November 27, will also present an opportunity to launch a network of cities-philosophers with participation of the representatives of municipalities of Romainville, St Fargeau-Ponthierry and Issy -les- Moulineaux who will share their experiences in promoting philosophy within the City.
On 26 November, from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm, a conference on "Developments of Philosophical Practices in the City" will also be given in Room II by the French philosopher Raphael Enthoven.
