“Access to Water for All in Africa”. Second International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO

The second International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO on the theme “Access to Water for All in Africa” will be held in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire on 30 and 31 July 2014.

The second International Forum of NGOs in official partnership with UNESCO on the theme “Access to Water for All in Africa” will be held in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire on 30 and 31 July 2014.

The theme of the forum falls within the framework of the UNESCO Operational Strategy for the implementation of the Priority Africa - 2014-2021, and follows the International Year for water cooperation for which UNESCO was lead agency in 2013.

Experts, representatives of international NGOs, stakeholders on the ground, men and women from different backgrounds will gather to discuss, exchange and share their experiences on different aspects of the issues addressed: progress and obstacles, the pollution problem, role of education and traditions, international decisions and their implementation, conflicts, etc.

Organized by the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee in close cooperation with the UNESCO Secretariat and with the support of the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, the Forum is intended primarily for NGOs in official partnership with the Organization, but is open also to other organizations and institutions interested in the topics, as well as to representatives of Member States, subject to prior registration on the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee website (www.ong-unesco.org)
