Describe the main features of the policy/measure: 

The Youth Culture Camps initiative (YCC) is a community-based program for Indigenous youth that provides funds to Indigenous organizations to deliver leadership initiatives and cultural-based camps. It is a targeted, proposal-based program offering opportunities for leadership development, physical activity and enhancing traditional language and knowledge for Indigenous youth.

YCC was launched in 2017, in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's recommendations.

What are the results achieved so far through the implementation of the policy/measure?: 

* 16 leadership-in-training camps and 121 community-based culture camps took place in the first two full years of implementation (2017-18 and 2018-19).
* Organizations have reported positive outcomes for youth including improvements in the areas of leadership skills, cultural identity and mental health.

Financial resources allocated to the policy/measure in USD: 

CAD 2.5 million (or USD 1.8 million) annually
