Key objectives of the measure:
Enhancement of cooperation with international networks of NGOs aimed at enhancement of institutional and administrative potential (ICOM, ICOMOS, ICCROM, IFACCA, IFLA, etc.) For example, in the reporting period, the International Council of Museums (ICOM), staff of the museums of Yerevan and marzes of Armenia, as well as the students of higher educational institutions participated in the master classes conducted by the specialists of advanced museums.
A number of international projects implemented in Armenia in 2011-2012 were dedicated to the new technologies in the field of culture. The 41st scientific conference of the International Committee of Cultural and Educational Activity (CECA) of the International Council of Museums titled “Museum and written communication. Tradition and Innovation” was held in Yerevan in 2012 with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and Open Society Institute (OSI). 140 people from 35 countries participated in the conference, the aim of which was to discuss the issues relating to written communication. The experience of international leading museums (Louvre, Smithsonian American, European and other museums) was presented.
Main feature of the measure:
In 2012, international conference "From Gutenberg to Internet: Unfinished Story for Librarians” was organised in co-operation with the International consortium “Electronic Information for Libraries”(EIFL), the aim of which was to strengthen the co-operation between electronic libraries. The conference was held with the participation of 71 participants from 43 countries, as well as representatives from the libraries of Armenia. The participants of a three-day conference were introduced to 15 publishing houses, which are specialised exclusively in preparing high-value scientific contents in electronic format.
In 2012, conference entitled “Music and music libraries in the 21st century” was organised in Armenia in co-operation with the International Association of Music Libraries (IAML).
