Our Network

The success of the 2005 Convention relies on a variety of different actors. By participating in discussions or contributing funding/in-kind donations, donors and partners work to protect and promote the diversity of cultural expressions by helping UNESCO to strengthen the scope and impact of its programmes.

These valuable contributions reinforce UNESCO’s action by:

• Strengthening the capacity of different governmental and civil society actors to harness the potential of their creative and cultural industries
• Expanding the work of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity, the only international fund designed to strengthen the cultural value train in developing countries
• Raising awareness about the Convention
• Assisting the governing bodies of the Convention
• Tracking progress on the implementation of the Convention

Several partners and donors already support the work of UNESCO in its efforts to promote the diversity of cultural expressions.
