On 3 April  2020,  the  Government  set up a temporary aid system for businesses in financial difficulty and introduced a social assistance scheme for freelance professional artists and entertainment industry workers in exceptional cases such as acts of terrorism or epidemics. The scheme allows qualifying  persons  to  be  paid  monthly  social assistance up to the level of minimum wage, on condition that their difficulties stem from an exceptional event. It also  guarantees  additional daily subsistence payments, on condition that the exceptional event prevents the entertainment worker from providing their services as determined by law (examples include the cancellation of exhibitions or concerts, or the cancellation or postponement of film productions or live shows).
