Mr Buquet is an economist, Master in Industrial organization and PhD in Information sciences. He is working as associate professor of creative economy at CLAEH University in Montevideo. For 15 years, he has worked on cultural policies and strategies, projects and statistics. He has recently been the Head Manager of the project “Strengthening Creative Industries and Improving Access to Cultural Goods and Services in Uruguay” (2008-2010); has policy experience in creative industries in Uruguay (as the Head manager of the Department of Creative Industries at the Ministry of Education and Culture in Uruguay from 2006 to 2008 and advisor to the Subdirector of Cultural Cooperation for the European Commission’s Working Group for Creative Industries in 2008). As external consultant and advisor, he has carried out research for the National Council of Culture and Arts in Chile, Spanish Ministry of Culture, Media Programme, the Inter-American Development Bank and as staff consultant for Media Research. Mr Buquet’s has particular expertise in the market and industrial organization of creative industries, with a focus on the audiovisual and digital environment in Latin American, a region where he has significant work experience. He also works in cultural policies, and now he is an advisor of de National Direction of Telecommunications in Uruguay.
