The Brazilian Creative City of Florianópolis mobilized its citizens to celebrate World Sustainable Day throughout the week of 18 to 21 June 2019. The event was attended by more than 2000 people and involved different stakeholders, who joined forces to raise awareness on culture and sustainable gastronomy under the aegis of the educational institutions that are part of the management group of Florianópolis’ membership to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
The UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy of Florianopolis (Brazil) serves delicate fine dining and loving meals to the underprivileged children and teenagers. Aimed to create new opportunities for positive socialization, the ABRASEL (Association Brazilian of Bars and Restaurants) Children’s Week enables young people from low-income families to visit places that are not used to be a part of their daily lives.
