Kütahya Launches “The Cradle of Foundation: Domaniç Exhibition” in Ankara, Turkey
From 1 to 8 February, Kütahya, UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art, will be presenting “The Cradle of Foundation: Domaniç Exhibition” in Ankara, Turkey. The event represents one of the outcomes of a project undertaken by Kütayha in Domaniç, located in Kütahya province.
The project has the objective to contribute to the economic and social development of the city through culture and creativity, by strengthening the cooperation between cultural professionals of the Domaniç area and the local stakeholders.
This large-scale exhibition is organized by Kütahya and Domaniç Municipalities, the Kütahya Culture and Art Foundation and the Kütahya Governorship in cooperation with Zafer Development Agency, as well as several artists and craftsmen.
It will host nearly 12 000 visitors and display artworks of painting, calligraphy, paper, marbling, ornamentation, Çini ceramics and handicrafts related to the historical area of Domaniç. The aim of the exhibition is to share the city’s wealth of the cultural activities as well as to foster the sense of belonging of its inhabitants to their cultural heritage.
All the UNESCO Creative Cities are invited to take part in this event, which represents an example on how culture can contribute to community-building and urban revitalization.
