On 28 June 2016, Detroit Creative City of Design, led by Detroit Creative Corridor Center, has officially launched its ten-year initiative. Over the next few months, the city will be convening partners from local government, industry, academia, and the civil society to develop a vision for how design can drive sustainable urban development in Detroit over the next decade.

Detroit has also produced a film untitled “Design is everywhere”, in cooperation with local filmmaker Stephen McGee, about the universal presence of design as a teaser for the upcoming Detroit Design Festival (September 22-24).
