Call for Applications for the International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21”

The second Call for Applications for the International Award “UCLG – MEXICO City – Culture 21” is opened until 15 March 2016.

Organized by UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) and Mexico City, the objective of the International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21” is to recognize cities and personalities that have distinguished themselves for their contribution to culture as a key driver for sustainable development.

The Award is a unique event promoting culture and creativity as levers for sustainable cities.

The International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21” has two categories: “City/Local Government” and “Individual”. The category “City/Local Government” recognizes a city, local or regional government which the cultural policy has significantly contributed to linking values of culture (heritage, diversity, creativity, transmission of knowledge) with democratic governance, citizen participation and sustainable development. The winning city will receive the amount of Euro 50,000.

UCCN encourage its Member Cities to apply to the second edition of the International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21”, opened until 15 March 2016.
