2020 Korean UCCN Member Cities Workshop

2020 Korean UCCN Member Cities Workshop

Thu, 11/12/2020 to Fri, 11/13/2020

In coordination with the Korean National Commission for UNESCO, Wonju, a UNESCO Creative City of Literature, hosted the “2020 Korean UCCN Member Cities Workshop”, gathering stakeholders from 8 Korean member cities and the Advisory Commission of Korean UCCN.

The workshop invited Creative Cities from the country to share their initiatives and projects undertaken in 2019-2020 as well as their future activities for 2021. It was also the occasion to exchange ideas about the organization of a “Mega Festival” that would be launched by all Korean member cities in 2021. Based on a project proposal designed by Daegu, a Creative City of Music, the Festival would primarily aim to raise awareness about the Network and its mission at the national level, through a transversal approach across creative fields.

Around 30 stakeholders joined the workshop, including representatives from the Creative Cities of Busan (Film), Bucheon (Literature), Daegu (Music), Gwangju (Media Arts), Icheon (Crafts and Folk art), Jeonju (Gastronomy) and Jinju (Crafts and Folk art).
