The Young Professionals’ (YP) Programme provides the opportunity for young university graduates and young qualified professionals under or equal the age of 32 years of application from non- and under-represented Member States* to join UNESCO early in their professional career.

The Junior Professional Officers (JPO/AE) Scheme provides the opportunity for young university graduates and young qualified professionals to acquire work experience in multilateral technical cooperation and obtain training and exposure to UNESCO work in the field or at headquarters. The scheme is funded by Donor countries*.

* The following countries have signed an agreement with UNESCO regarding the AE Scheme: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, People's Republic of China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
