Children's day care

Parents have different options when choosing the day care mode for their children at early age. UNESCO provides nursery and children's day care facilities (see below).

UNESCO Day Nursery and Children's Club

The UNESCO Day Nursery and Children’s Club (UNC) aims to support  families upon their arrival at UNESCO and to facilitate their children integration with the help of a unique curriculum based on the appreciation of different languages and cultures.

The Day Nursery can host  30 children, ranging from 12 months (provided they can walk unaided) to 3 years.

The Children’s Club provides care for children between 3 and 8 years of age on Wednesdays and during the school holidays.  The Children’s Club hosts around 20 children every Wednesday. The children are organized into 2 groups: 3-5 year olds and 6-8 year olds.

Places in the Children’s Club and Day Nursery are allocated in the following order within the limits of the places available.:

  • children previously enrolled,
  • children of
    • UNESCO staff members,
    • members of the Permanent Delegations,
    • supernumeraries,
    • consultants,
    • staff of UNC,
    • restaurant services, the UNESCO Commissary,
    • staff members of the other international agencies established in Paris,
