Davide Storti

UNESCO Programme Specialist

Davide is a UNESCO Programme Specialist, within the Communication and Information Sector. His work is informed by the vision to promote universal access to information and building inclusive knowledge societies. He is the focal point of the UNESCO Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) programme, which aims at spreading and supporting FOSS worldwide. He is also UNESCO YouthMobile focal point and initiator. Through UNESCO YouthMobile, he oversaw the deployment of projects in over 26 countries around the world and increased digital skills and empowerment of local communities. 

Davide has led for several years the development of UNESCO’s information storage and retrieval software CDS/ISIS, used in libraries and documentation centres worldwide. Prior to joining UNESCO, Davide worked as an independent software developer consultant, after his studies in applied informatics.
