Partners' Alliance

Encourage mobilisation of partners to support the Biennale and develop successful projects and initiatives in Africa on a larger scale

As a multi-stakeholder hub aimed at strengthening the Pan-African Movement for the Culture of Peace and Non-Violence, the Luanda Biennale hosts the Partners’ Alliance for the Culture of Peace in Africa. The Partners' Alliance is part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 16 (Peace and Justice and effective institutions) and 17 (Partnerships) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, and the Aspirations of the African Union’s Agenda 2063, including the initiatives “An Agenda for Peace” and “Silencing the Guns by 2020”.


The Partners’ Alliance welcomes different categories of partners from the public and private sectors, African and non-African Member States, bilateral cooperation agencies, development banks, foundations, regional economic communities, language communities, international organizations. 


The aim of the Alliance is to mobilize funds for innovative projects and initiatives for the culture of peace in Africa and in the diasporas. Not only the members of the Partners undertake to commit themselves beside UNESCO, the African Union, and the Angolan government in the organization of the Biennale and to make it a lasting even, but they also undertake to provide financial support for the various activities organized within the framework of this first edition.


The Partners’ Alliance also provides the opportunity to mobilize traditional and digital media. It seeks to engage the media in disseminating information, initiates social media campaigns and implements media training project and information literacy workshops.
