Gimnazija Ptuj is one of the best Slovene grammar schools and is located in Ptuj, a small town in the east of Slovenia. It was established in 1869 and we are celebrating 145 years of its existence next year. In 2001 we moved into a new modern building.

The school prepares students for university and includes a European class and a Sports class as well. There are about 660 students at the school and the staff consists of  75 teachers. The students can choose from a range of foreign languages:  English, German, Italian, French, Russian and Chinese. A lot of them take part in various international projects, e.g. ASEF ACES, Alpe Adria, ENO, ESFALP, IDAL  and others. The school belongs to the group of ASPnet (UNESCO) schools. Varied activities and exchanges in our school are regularly presented in local and national media.

The headmistress of GIMNAZIJA Ptuj is Ms Melani Centrih.
