Building peace in the minds of men and women

10th UNESCO Youth Forum

Paolo Petrocelli

“It is so important that young people recognize that their actions, even the smallest actions, can make a huge difference. Sometimes, there is a lot of pessimism that things just won’t change but the energy and potential of young people is tremendous.”

“I’ve always believed that the arts and arts education are a major force for growth, development and change globally. That is why I founded the Youth Committee of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO three years ago. Today, the Committee is made up of over 300 members from all over Italy, each working for positive change in their communities.”

“As we move forward, it is vital that we work towards enforcing the education and developing policies that take into account the particular needs of youth. Governments must ensure that society is a place where youth are not just the leaders of the future, but the builders of today.”
