From and to the airport:

Taxis, buses and the railway service provide a regular link from the Geneva International Airport (Cointrin) with the Cornavin Station (main station) in downtown Geneva. It takes 6 minutes from/to Geneva city centre by train (every 12 minutes at rush hours). The following urban buses stop every 8-15 minutes at rush hours at the airport (bus stops at the Check-in level, in front of or beside the train station): 5, 10, 23, 57, Y. From Gare Cornavin, hotels can be accessed via a range of public transport options including bus, trams and taxis.

Transport tickets can be purchased at the ticket machines next to the tram / bus stops and can also be bought at the Geneva Transport Office. Many hotels provide a “Geneva Transport Card”, which enables their guests to travel on all modes of public transportation for free for the duration of their stay.

Maps of and timetables for the Geneva bus / tram network are available on the TPG (Geneva Public Transport) website.

From and to the Palais des Nations:

The Palais des Nations can be reached by taxi, buses and trams. Bus numbers 5, 8, 11, 22, 28, F, V, and Z and tram numbers 13 and 15 stop at the Palais des Nations.

To enter the Palais des Nations, you will need a security badge, which is to be worn at all times on the premises.

Upon arrival at the Palais des Nations you are therefore kindly requested to collect your badge at the United Nations Security Service, Pregny entrance. The Security Service is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (non-stop). You will be asked to present a valid passport or identity card. Please note that delays are common in issuing badges because of the volume of visitors.

Please note that you may bring into the Palais only the type of luggage that is normally considered as carry-on luggage by airline companies e.g. computer bags, rucksacks and hand bags. Should you have large luggage, after you have received your identity badge, the luggage will be stored for you by the Security Service if sufficient space is available.  The United Nations Office at Geneva declines all responsibility for any luggage stored.
