Yachay Wasi

Objectives and Mission: 

Yachay Wasi's aim is to preserve and disseminate the cultural pride and interests of the Native Peoples of Peru, which was part of Tawantinsuyu, the empire at the time of the Incas. Yachay Wasi aims to establish a cultural exchange between the Native Peoples of Peru which was part of Tawantinsuyu, the Empire at the time of the Incas, and the Peoples of New York City, through various cultural programmes. Dedicated to promoting the cultural pride and interests of the Native Peoples of Peru by highlighting the contributions of indigenous peoples to human civilizations and equally to encourage their potential contribution to sustainable development.

General description: 

Projects: Centro Cultural Yachay Wasi, runasimi - education and culture, information and communication, health, habitat, environment, transportation and income generating business development; Recovery of the Circuit of Four Lakes - environmental project. Sponsors cultural tours to the Peruvian Andes; organizes Andean Encounter of Indigenous Communities in the High Andes and conferences.
