Objectives and Mission: 

To spread the use of Esperanto; take action to solve the language problem in international relations and to facilitate international communication; facilitate every kind of spiritual and material relationship among the peoples of the world, despite differences of
nationality, race, sex, religion, politics or language; cultivate among members a strong feeling of solidarity and a well-developed understanding of other peoples.
Priority issues: Promotion of Esperanto; peace; youth.

General description: 

Organization of international conferences and meetings. The most important one is the Universal Congress, once a year. (89th Universal Congress, Beijing, China, 24-31 July 2004).
