Soroptimist International joins forces with four other international women's organisations in Project-Five-0. This supports vocational training for women in developing countries and Soroptimist International's involvement is in projects in Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Madagascar, Philippines, Senegal, Thailand, Turkey and Western Samoa. Every four years, Soroptimist International adopts an International Quadrennial Project: 1999-2003: in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Limbs for Life project works in Afghanistan, Angola and Georgia to help the victims of landmines.
