International Student Identity Card Association

Objectives and Mission:

The ISIC Association is the non-profit organization responsible for management, growth and development of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), and complementary cards the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC). The mission of the ISIC Association is to provide all bona fide students, regardless of their nationality, race, gender or religion, with the opportunity to prove their student status in every country worldwide, via an official and affordable identifier of student status. The ISIC card is now used by approximately 4 million students each year.

General description:

Established in 1953, the ISIC card is currently issued to students in 133 countries. The ISIC card is not exclusive. All bona fide full time students over the age of 12, regardless of their nationality, race, gender, sexual orientation, political persuasion or religion can access an ISIC card. Through the ISIC card students gain preferential and discounted access to products, services and experiences relevant to all areas of student life, consequently helping to save students money. Through the wide range of opportunities available to cardholders, the ISIC Association aims to play a supporting role in improving intercultural understanding, increasing educational opportunities and facilitating student life across the world. The ISIC Association partners with universities, academic institutions, local and national governments, intergovernmental agencies, and other non-governmental organizations in order to support its mission and activities. Complementary to the ISIC card, the ISIC Association also manages the International Youth Travel Card (IYTC) and International Teacher Identity Card (ITIC) to further encourage intercultural exchange and mobility internationally.
