The Association is a confederation of National Committees representing academic, industrial and student spheres of interest.
To provide students at institutions of higher education with technical experience abroad in relation to their studies taken in the broadest sense. To promote international understanding and goodwill among students of all nations. To operate an exchange programme for the benefits of students, academic institutions and other organisations offering traineeships.
Priority issues: Student exchanges; training; university co-operation.
The Association’s sole activity is student exchange, primarily for the benefit of students from the region EUR. The total number of trainees exchanged in 2003 was 4633.
The International Exchange Programme: the exchange of offers of training is conducted at the General Conference. Prior to the conference, each member country collects offers from employers willing to receive students from abroad for a training period related to the student's disciplines or study. The offering companies or organizations are expected to pay students a wage sufficient to cover their cost of living during the actual training periods.
