About the Project

Networks of Mediterranean Youth (NET-MED Youth) is a unique three-year project implemented by UNESCO and funded by the European Union with the aim of building the capacities of youth, enhancing networking among them, engaging them in dialogue with national stakeholders and in the development and revision of public policies. NET-MED Youth also promotes freedom of expression among youth, their enhanced representation and participation in the media, and their empowerment through media and information literacy. Through capacity building programmes for youth organizations, the project ensure that youth actively participate in dialogue with national stakeholders around employment and skills development policies.

NET-MED Youth benefits:

  • Youth organizations from 10 countries along the eastern and western basins of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Youth, skills development and employment stakeholders (ministries, public institutions, social partners, and others).
  • Young media professionals, citizen journalists and bloggers, and civil society practitioners working in the fields of freedom of expression and media development.
